Week of the Young Child at GCCSemana del Niño Pequeño en GCC

Last week our little Jaybirds participated in the “Week of the Young Child” where they were able to participate in many different activities throughout the week, all leading up to the end of the week where they could build a garden made from flowers they created. It was a blast to be able to watch our little Jaybirds enough the daily activities. 

Here’s how the week broke down: 

Music Monday – Students made instruments in their classrooms to share with their friends. 

Tasty Tuesday – Students were able to talk, taste and draw a picture of their favorite fruit or vegetable during their snack time.

Work Together Wednesday – Students worked together to create a flower at the art center in each classroom.

Artsy Thursday – Students took a field trip to add their work and view others work at our abstract garden mural. 

Family Friday – Parents were able to work together with their children to create a flower that would also make its way into our mural! 

We had such an amazing week and the mural turned out incredible! Thank you to our parents for helping make this a fun activity not only at school but at home as well. And a huge thank you to our teachers for putting this together and creating a fun space for learning and collaboration for our little Jaybirds.

La semana pasada, nuestros pequeños Jaybirds participaron en la “Semana del Niño Pequeño”, donde pudieron participar en muchas actividades diferentes durante toda la semana, todas hasta el final de la semana donde pudieron construir un jardín hecho de flores que crearon. Fue una maravilla poder ver a nuestros pequeños Jaybirds lo suficiente en las actividades diarias. 

Así es como fue la semana:

Lunes de música – Los estudiantes hicieron instrumentos en sus clases para compartir con sus amigos.

Martes sabroso – Los estudiantes pudieron hablar, probar y hacer un dibujo de su fruta o verdura favorita durante su merienda.

Miércoles de trabajo conjunto – Los estudiantes trabajaron juntos para crear una flor en el centro de arte en cada salon.

Jueves artístico – Los estudiantes hicieron una excursión para agregar su trabajo y ver el trabajo de otros en nuestro mural abstracto del jardín.

Viernes Familiar – ¡Los padres pudieron trabajar junto con sus hijos para crear una flor que también se abriría camino en nuestro mural!

¡Tuvimos una semana increíble y el mural resultó increíble! Gracias a nuestros padres por ayudar a hacer de esta una actividad divertida no solo en la escuela sino también en casa. Y un enorme agradecimiento a nuestros maestros por armar esto y crear un espacio divertido para el aprendizaje y la colaboración para nuestros pequeños Jaybirds.
